The top is an original, from scratch.I used all sorts of cool brushes.
I warped the background, which started of as a plain noise gradient
The second is a derivative work, made with the one from my previous post... you can never go wrong with mixing them!That's the tip of the day, I suppose. When you can't find a way to spice something up further, try blending it with another work, using blendng modes.
